Growing up as a millennial in the Midwest I was taught that you’re supposed to go to college, intern at a big company, work there for 15 years, and gradually move up until eventually retiring. But this path wasn’t available to me nor to many of my counterparts after graduation. We came into a workforce and an economy turned upside-down, and we were forced to compete for entry-level roles alongside 10+ year veterans in some cases.
